PM: Milan considering move for Man Utd winger as alternative to €35m-rated Berardi

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are considering an attempt to sign Jesse Lingard on a free transfer to bolster their attacking options, according to a report.

PianetaMilan report that there are reflections underway regarding whether Domenico Berardi is worth the €35m that Sassuolo want for him given he will turn 28 this year and has not convinced much outside of his ‘comfort zone’ at Sassuolo.

That is why Jesse Lingard of Manchester United is also being considered as an option, given his contract is about to expire and he doesn’t seem to have much intention of renewing with the Red Devils as he would prefer to play more continuously.

He is 29 years of age but with no transfer fee involved this is more in line with the ideas of the management, and he currently earns around €4.5m net per season which – taking advantage of the Growth Decree tax relief scheme – means the Rossoneri would not incur excessive spending.

Even if it may seem trivial, Lingard had a visit as a tourist in recent days to the city of Milan where he was pictured with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

  1. If we compare him to Berardi, they are about the same. But Lingard would be a smart signing because he showed how good he is on AMC last season at West Ham, definitely better than Diaz.

  2. This is fully risk gamble. He is called lord llingardinho in MU but he is good when loaned to west ham . If his salary are below 4m euro,/ years probably management Will sign him

    1. Yeah, huge risk to get a player on a free transfer, imagine if we have to sell him for 5-10M later and make some money if it doesn’t work out. 😀

  3. Solid signing on a FREE. Better than Berardi and 30M vs FREE for probably the same output? Sign him pls. Let’s face it we have a limited budget. 80M isn’t a lot of money. So if we can get a few players on FREE transfers – Kamara, Lindgard and Origi – while still increasing the quality of the squad – then of course we should do it. Spend the rest elsewhere.

    1. I think he would try much harder to prove Man Utd he shouldn’t have been neglected for 2-3 seasons and he could step up. I don’t see Berardi doing that, sometimes he looks like he thinks he is Messi but is more of a Messias.

  4. nooo…
he’s overated, inconsisten, too much outfield distraction,
lord lingardinho is tiktok ambasador at best.. stay away from Milan
