Tuttosport: Milan’s defender hunt remains wide open as Montpellier starlet attracts interest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are keeping their options open in their search for a new centre-back with both established players and young defenders in their viewfinder, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of the newspaper Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the feeling is that the Rossoneri will not go on a shopping spree in the January market, but if they do add a player it will either be an opportunity or a smaller investment on a player with potential who is not quite proven yet.

The new name on the list of targets is 19-year-old Maxime Estève of Montpellier, who has broken into the first team and is impressing in Ligue 1. There are other option too such as Eric Bailly of Manchester United, Abdou Diallo of PSG, Nicolò Casale of Hellas Verona and Mattia Viti of Empoli.

However, it is obviously not guaranteed that a defender will definitely arrive in the current market, as sporting director Ricky Massara hinted.
