There certainly was not an abundance of positive performance in last night’s game between AC Milan and Spezia, with several Rossoneri players drawing criticism.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) also has player ratings as part of their analysis of a controversial encounter at San Siro, and they start with a positive assessment of Rafael Leao. “There is no longer any doubt. We are in the presence of a predestined,” the paper writes, giving him a 7 out of 10.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s performance was also positive as he got a score of 6.5, as was that of substitute Davide Calabria who got the same grade. Mike Maignan, Alessandro Florenzi, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Rade Krunic, Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias got a 6.
Then the negative notes begin to roll in as Matteo Gabbia, Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz struggled and got a 5.5, with Pierre Kalulu (5) the worst on the field.

He was very sloppy to cover the player from crossing the ball.
messias shouldn’t play at all. Rebic can play on RW with Leao on LW. Also with Calabria getting back to fitness soon, Florenzi can play RW as well as of course Saele. But best option on RW is Rebic who played well there for Croatia in World Cup run (with Perisic at LW — and they switched sides during matches often to confuse opponents because both of them can cross well with both feet). Bottom line — we have THREE players who are all better options than Messias.

totally agree , I would have started Calabria at RB with Florenzi at DM, he has played their before, drop him back to RB when Calabria is (tired) subbed. One criticism I have of Pioli is he is inflexible with the defined roles of his players, as an example Theo is our LFB but when you look at his results (assists ,goals) you would swear he is a winger, and in the future would consider moving him to mid def. Got a nose for the goal and plays that position for Team France.
