Now that the renewal of Ismael Bennacer is complete, the AC Milan management have turned their attention towards getting Rafael Leao’s extension over the line.
According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky (via MilanNews), optimism is growing that the Portuguese winger will in fact extend his deal beyond the current June 2024 deadline, confirmed by the fact that his lawyer Ted Dimvula is expected in Italy to continue negotiations with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.
The meeting with Leao’s representative is planned to take place upon his return from Saudi Arabia, where Milan will face Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana on 18 January, which is this Wednesday night.
It seems as though Milan will finally get to the heart of the negotiation and will attempt to resolve the various obstacles such as salary, bonuses, the potential presence of a release clause and the fine owed to Sporting CP.
