There has been a lot of speculation in the media regarding the future of Brahim Diaz and what AC Milan plan to do after the completion of his loan deal.
MilanNews begin their update on the situation by stating that relations between Milan and Real Madrid are optimal and the managements of the two clubs respect each other a lot. During the spring of 2023, the Rossoneri and Los Blancos will meet around a table to discuss the future of Brahim Diaz, who will cut and exceed 100 appearances for Milan this season.
Brahim Diaz is feeling very happy at Milan, he has now settled in to the best of his ability in the city and he knows he is highly regarded by Stefano Pioli and the staff. His flexibility and technical quality make him a very useful player in the squad, even if it were not necessarily as a guaranteed starter.
Milan have a buy-out option set at €22m with Real Madrid having inserted a buy-back at €27m but these are ‘indicative figures’ which will be the subject of discussion during the meeting between the clubs.
The ‘fundamental element’ in the issue will be what the player wants to do. If Diaz legitimately wanted to return to Real Madrid and fight for a spot there then Milan will not resist, but he also knows that at Milan he has played an average of over 30 games per year, including appearances as a starter and as a substitute.
He has continuity of use and is perfectly aware of the coach’s requests, so in the event that he were to inform Real Madrid of his desire to be sold permanently to Milan, then the two clubs would talk to find a reasonable amount ‘much lower’ than the one established in the two-year loan agreement.
I really don’t think we should spend that money on Brahim considering how we carry ourselves as poor and can’t renew our best players.
The boy is a warrior and plays his heart out every time and I’ll always like him for that, but the inconsistency is too much. When or rather if we take our next gear, we cant still be ‘waiting’ for Brahim to explode and finally fulfill his potential.
I’m afraid to say it but it seems like spending above 20+ million is going to be rare for this Milan team, and I don’t think Brahim should be the one we spend that money on
