Tuttosport: Milan ready for next meeting with Leao’s lawyer amid dressing room pact

By Oliver Fisher -

There is talk of a dressing room pact in the event that Rafael Leao extends his contract with AC Milan in the coming weeks, a report claims.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report that Leao returned to training yesterday after enjoying a few more days off following his participation in the World Cup, and now Stefano Pioli is hoping for good news regarding his renewal.

The paper claims that Milan will do everything to convince him to sign the extension and for this reason they are willing to offer the highest salary possible, and some very important news is emerging from the Rossoneri dressing room.

Leao would not be seen by the squad as a forerunner in a race to get a salary increase. Instead, they all recognise Leao’s importance very well and therefore no one would object if Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were to offer an amount of around €7m net per season to convince him to sign a renewal.

The management hope that the month of January will be decisive in the long soap opera as a new meeting with the French lawyer Ted Dimvula – who holds the power of attorney for Leao – is scheduled.

English clubs are observing carefully and are ready to make their move, but there is no chance of that happening in January and if he were to turn down the offers from Milan a sale would only be considered next summer.
