MN: Milan missing the psychological impact of Ibrahimovic in certain games

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan must quickly forget about the draw against Salernitana and regather their troops for the final stretch of the season, with the hopes Zlatan Ibrahimovic will soon return to guide them.

MilanNews reports how Stefano Pioli and his staff will have to work hard this week to right the wrongs from the draw against Salernitana and produce a more polished and assured performance against Udinese on Friday, one with an increased focus and a better mentality.

There are certainly still reminders that Ibrahimovic is still an important element of this team, because even though the young squad has learned to win without the Swedish striker, the psychological impact that Zlatan has on the opposing defenders and also on his team-mates is huge.

Ibra should be able to take part in the games against Napoli and Atalanta which will be huge in the title race, but it is against the teams outside the top seven where the Rossoneri may win or lose their current ranking.

Ibrahimovic has been unavailable since the home draw against Juventus on 23 January due to an inflammation of the Achilles tendon, but when he is back it should be a boost to the whole environment, because he will constantly remind the squad that focus cannot be allowed to drop at any point.

  1. Pioli doesn’t see the fatigue of players and suddenly when a key player injured, he asks bench players to perform as he is playing every game. One thing Pioli lacks is continuity and managing players game time. If we loose a game for every 4matches like this. We should only aim for top 4, not for Scuddeto.
Pioli uses the substitutes only for the attacking players never has CB’s on a bad day too.

  2. The reason we drew that game was as a result of lack of seriousness from LEAO he did nothing right and was allowed to finish the game. Hauge would have won Milan this game if he was still part of the team LEAO isn’t a serious minded person imo

  3. Absolutely right, ibra is a wonderful idea for Milan he helped with his tactical skills and put more pressure to defenders were goals might be score. Also we look forward for him to renew his contract.
