MN: Milan should have a ‘more aggressive strategy’ under Investcorp – their ambitions

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s potential new owners Investcorp are expected to invest a bit more in the transfer market compared to Elliott Management, according to a report.

According to Pietro Mazzara’s latest column for MilanNews, Milan fans should expect a ‘more aggressive strategy’ in the mercato compared to Elliott because it is the very nature of the two funds that differentiates their operations.

The Bahrain-based Investcorp are mainly involved in private equity while the American fund are more geared towards restructuring companies and reselling them to make a profit. The Singer family have done a tremendous job with to make them more sustainable and virtuous, so much so that they haven’t made any capital injections in the last 18 months.

At the end of 2021 in Bahrain the idea of an expansion into the sporting world from the Middle East was born, which means that Milan could be about to have an ‘impressive economic power’ behind them.

What transpires from circles close to Investcorp is that they want to win and wants to bring Milan back to the elite level, but also still following the path traced by Elliott in terms of sustainability. There will therefore be big expense, but not on the level of PSG and Manchester City.

  1. Just get Mbappe for free, pump the money in through “sponsors” that overpay so we can get him and I’ll say I am satisfied with the ownership. If they can’t get Mbappe we don’t need that filthy money and those half human owners. Simple as that.

  2. Just sign good RW like Antony/Asensio/ziyech. Their salary in AC Milan parameter. Get rid of king saladmaker ,sell him to highest bidder to free slot in RW Along with castilejo. Return brahim to real Madrid and sign quality no 10 AMF as his replacement example : Charles deketelare/de Paul/Dybala. With this we don’t need splash more than 200m euro like Yong Hong Li did. I don’t think we can afford expensive striker in summer 2022 but maybe in summer 2023 after Giroud contract expire. For next season let’s just stick with striker Giroud,Origi,Ibra/belotti

    1. RW is needed, Milan should go for Pepe from Arsenal and from the start of 2023/24 they should try to get Guardiola when his done with City

  4. If the new owner truly has money to invest there is Mbape, Kamara and Dybala for free then buy Nunez and Tchouanemi with big amount. Finally wise/normal budget on left back and CB if Romagnoli leaves.

Truly we can finally compete with almost everybody with our 11

    Maignan
    Kalulu
    Kajaer
    Tomori
    Theo
    Tonali
    Tchouanemi
    Leao
    Dybala
    Mbape
    Nunez

  5. This is all fairy tale, regarding investment in club. You have to understand, Investcorp us fund, for this deal backed up by Mubadala, who owns MC. They are interested for investment in Italy and Europe, and Milan is only “passport” for them. Nothing big will be changed for club. It is ok to be first in Italy, but we know what happen in CL. To be European champion again, need years of smart planing, not necessary only money. It looks, Abu Dhabi is going to decide who is going to win CL, because, their money is in many European clubs.
