AC Milan are set to net themselves a nice windfall from the new long-term extension they have signed with PUMA, a report claims.
A statement on the official website confirms that the deal between the Rossoneri and their shirt maker has been extended having first been established in 2018 when the German manufacturer took over from Adidas.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the deadline has now shifted from 2023 to 2028. It is a reflection of a commercial project that started to take off already a couple of years ago and – with the effect of the Scudetto and a general increase in brand value – could really accelerate.
With regards to the economic aspect, no official figures have been leaked from Milan but broadly speaking, the deal will go from €14m per year to around €30-35m for what becomes the richest sponsorship deal in the club’s history.
This money will evidently be reinvested in the growth of the club, in all aspects. As part of the agreement, the German manufacturer also becomes Vismara’s ‘Official Naming Partner’ as the home of the academy and women’s team will become ‘Centro Vismara – PUMA House of Football’.
As part of this, it foresees targeted investments on the next generations of youth players and will also host events and initiatives. Milan’s commercial revenue continues to grow.
Yet we can’t spend
Off course every Milan fans are excited to get all apparels related to AC Milan after the last serie A title. But now, Milan has to spend to buy quality players to maintain the title and better performance in champions league. Economical gain always related directly to team performance and titles.
Puma designs are terrible.
I’m gutted that we, as the fans that buy the merchandise, are stuck with Puma.
Actually I agree. Their design are terrible. I don’t like the authentic home jersey last year. Not the replica, but the authentic one, the collar seems weird. I decided to buy just the replica one. I don’t like the third or fourth jersey with white flame pattern… very weird.
