Journalist claims Milan have had ‘more than just talks’ with Belotti over summer move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have had more than one discussion with Andrea Belotti over a contract for next season, according to the journalist Tancredi Palmeri.

There is a big dilemma to solve when it comes to Milan’s attack next season given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract expires and even if he renews he will turn 41, while Olivier Giroud will turn 36 this year and Marko Lazetic is just 18 without a single minute of action.

That is why Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara cannot help but look around while waiting for news on Ibrahimovic’s future and also to perhaps seek a ready-made centre-forward to come in and offer physical guarantees.

Belotti’s name is one that continues to be heavily linked with Milan given his contract expires at the end of the season and he is a boyhood fan of the club. The journalist Tancredi Palmeri was a guest on the Twitch channel of Serie A News, and he gave some interesting information.

“There is no pre-agreement but they are more than just talks, they have already spoken three times to find an agreement,” he said (via MilanNews).

  1. Ibrahimovic 41, Lazetic 18. That’s a crazy statistic. Ibra was already a champion before Lazetic was even born. Let that sit for a moment.

  2. I wish we will sign Belotti. He is like Benzema. And Belotti will definitely shine at AC Milan considering it is his dream club.

    1. Belotti is like Benzema? I think that is much too generous lol. Belotti is a fine player for the league but has failed to shine when playing in Europe or in the national team. Most players don’t. Belotti on a free is fine and is ok as a stop gap for a year but IMO I think we could do better and hope that when Ibra retires I hope we spend heavily on a dynamic striker that can lead the line for the next 10 years (someone similar to Vlahovic)
