Tijjani Reijnders has completely changed the situation at AC Milan, often on his own, and he is someone to build around and believe in.
Having a player like Reijnders at your club is special. The basics: he wants to play for Milan and the fans love him – a mutual relationship in that sense. Then, there is the truth: he is one of the best midfielders in the world currently.
Watching him week in week out proves this, without a doubt, but the numbers also support this. Last season, the Dutchman needed to score more, now, he does that. This is whilst he has added to the overall basics of his game.
In other words, the 26-year-old is special, beyond words, and for this reason, Geoffrey Moncada has stated that he will not leave, and it is a message further relayed by Milan News.
Ultimately, as the report states, the midfielder is irreplaceable. He is the most prolific midfielder in Italy by a landslide, and this is the case when comparing him to other European midfielders too.
If the Rossoneri were to ‘deprive’ themselves of such a player, it would be nonsensical, especially at a time when the club are rebuilding. Therefore, the answer is clear: build around the No.14, build on a certainty.
He IS NOT A ADVANCED MIDFIELDER
He plays best beside Fofana, Fofana also loves having him beside him. We need to build the partnership
There was all the talk about Ricci, we dont need such an expensive backup.
With Reijnders and Fofana our midfield is leaking badly. We’re defensively non existent. Even in 343.
love this guy so much man
Literally the one player that doesn’t really fit the 3-4-3
Admittedly that might not be the long term vision, and 4-3-3 might make more sense as a long term Plan A.
Elite scorer. Not elite defender or passer. If he can improve on either of the above he can be the best in the world. I hate to sh*t on Tiji because I love him. But the great midfielders own the pitch. Tiji does not
100%
Let’s hope that he improves on his passing and defending just like he did improve his shooting.
If he can become a good playmaker while also being reliable defensively, we might claim that we have one of the best midfielders in the world.
Build around 14 & 11. Sprinkle some 10 & 7 in complimentary fashion. Bring in a real 6.
Completely agree with 14 and 11. It was hard to watch 10 on Saturday – despite the lovely goal. Too often I saw 9 players running and one walking while getting back on defense. Still need a larger sample size with 7, but not convinced just yet.
