AC Milan will do battle with Napoli to try and sign Darwin Nunez from Liverpool this summer, according to a report.
Milan’s centre-forwards department will undergo a real revolution in the coming weeks. Tammy Abraham will not be bought and will return to Roma, Luka Jovic will not renew his contract, while Francesco Camarda will go out on loan.

It remains to be seen what the future of Santiago Gimenez will be, who arrived for over €30m in January, because Massimiliano Allegri has asked the club for a top-level striker. Therefore, if he were to arrive, the Mexican would remain as the first reserve striker.

According to this morning’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), among the players targeted by Milan is Darwin Nunez, the Liverpool centre-forward who is also very much admired by Napoli. The Scudetto winners boast Champions League football, which plays in their favour.
A market duel is therefore expected between Allegri and Conte who are both aiming to have a new striker. The Reds’ valuation is quite high: €60m, while the salary shouldn’t be a big top since the Uruguayan could ‘settle’ for a contract of €5m net per season.
Napoli have been following Nunez for a long time, who has now also forcefully ended up on Milan’s wish list. His adventure at Liverpool has not lived up to expectations, especially if you consider that he cost €100m (including bonuses) in the summer of 2022.
He has made 143 appearances and scored 40 goals in all competitions. The season that has just ended was perhaps the most complicated (just seven goals in 47 games played) and for this reason it seems the time has come to change teams.

This is not happening. Even if Napoli were stupid enough to sign this fraud, they wouldn’t pay over €40 million or just take him on loan then send him back after a year.

Allegri wants a top striker. So it’s not Gimenez who scored 5 goals and added 2 assists in 670 minutes in Serie A – the average is every 134 minutes. This must be taken as a top result because it is the first time he is playing in Serie A and Milan was in crisis. In the Champions League, he has an even better result of 448 minutes, 6 goals and an assist – an average of a goal every 75 minutes. Let’s see those top strikers 😀. Vlahović played 1,784 minutes in Serie A and scored 10 goals, which is a goal every 178 minutes. In the Champions League, he played 548 minutes and scored 4 goals and had one assist – a goal every 137 minutes. Darwin Nunez scored a goal every 224 minutes in the Premier League and 464 minutes in the Champions League. So who is the top striker here? 🤣
This. Finally someone looked at the bigger picture. And like you said, let’s not forget that he arrived in the middle of the season and Italy can be really tough league to settle in.
The point is that Gimenez is better than both Vlahovic and the blind Darwin, but if Allegri wants one of these two without getting rid of Gimenez, it wouldn’t be his first time, because Pirla got rid of him in favor of Van Bommel, and then he brought us Matri. After all, what good is a top striker if he doesn’t play attacking football. His Juventus scored 55 goals in the last three seasons, Pulisic, Leao and Gimenez can do that.
These rumors about anyone valued over 40M€ are ridiculous. Even the journalists who publish these (bedtime) stories know Milan will never splash out that kind of sums on anyone. Why waste people’s time with these?
