Messaggero: Milan and Napoli could complicate Lazio’s plans to sign €10m Verona defender

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could sign two centre-backs in the summer transfer window as they have retained an interest in Nicolo Casale of Hellas Verona, a report claims.

The fact that Alessio Romagnoli’s contract is expiring at the end of the season, plus Simon Kjaer being out with a long-term injury and a potential loan being lined up for Matteo Gabbia means that Milan might not just go for one big name defender in the summer.

According to Il Messaggero (via MilanLive), Casale is among the defenders that most entice the Rossoneri management even if it seemed as though Lazio were going to sign him in the winter market but they failed to get a deal over the line.

There is a sort of promise in view of June between Lazio and Verona to discuss the 23-year-old again – also considering the excellent relations between the two clubs – but Milan and Napoli could complicate the Biancocelesti’s plans.

Casale has a valuation of around €10m which is a price within reach, especially given Elliott Management are happy to improve investments on young talents, so Rossoneri scouts will monitor him in the coming months.
