There is a chance that AC Milan win the Scudetto this season, but they must start scoring more goals if they are to achieve the dream.
A lot has been said about Milan’s chances of winning the league this year. However, with the latest draw of the season against Roma, there are a few doubts about the level of output from Massimiliano Allegri’s team.

Goals needed
Gazzetta dello Sport writes that there has only been one goal scored in five of the Rossoneri’s last six games. Of course, the three-goal game against Cagliari then sticks out like a sore thumb. However, this should be the norm.
From Rafael Leao, Christopher Nkunku, Christian Pulisic and Niclas Fullkrug, no shots on target against Roma. Instead, Allegri had to rely on strikes from Koni De Winter and Adrien Rabiot.
Throughout the game, the Diavolo looked to be behind, as the Giallorossi controlled possession and the general flow of the game and the stats prove this. Milan, through the 90 minutes, had an xG of just 0.44. A real statement for the lack of goal threat.
This year, Allegri has not had four strikers firing at once; heck, he has barely had two to rely on. Whether it has been due to injuries or poor form, the Rossoneri have struggled in the forwrad department.
Looking elsewhere, Inter – the Scudetto favourites – have 50 goals in 22 games. If a second star is to be achieved, more goals are needed.
Pulisic and Fullkrug should be our starting front 2. Leão and Nkunku are not strikers. So we can’t play with them because it doesn’t work. Leao and Pulisic doesn’t work either.
Allegri needs to pair Pulisic and Fullkrug or Leao and Fullkrug or Nkunku and Fullkrug.
Leao and Nkunku cannot play with their backs to the goal. Also, Leao is not adapting to a false 9 like M’bappe and Dembele.
So it’s useless playing Leao if we can’t play him as a winger.
This is the most accurate comment i have seen here. I don’t see how pulisic and Leao would work. They are both wingers and every time any of them has flourished, It’s usually with another pair such as Gimenez at the start of the season or RLC or Frukrug. They both aren’t typical box players.
I don’t care what combination should it be but one thing is certain: Pulisic needs to start. Period.
Uh no, dumbahh writer. We have 1 striker currently. Pulisic, leao, and nkunku are all NOT center forwards. Thats 2 wingers and a #10. Were failing because Allegri keeps refusing to play the only #9 we have, and keeps forcing a leao and puli/nkunku combo up top that NEVER WORKS. We need to play actual strikers up top, yet we never start our only one…

Yeah but santi won’t be back likely til next season. So we have just Fullkrug for now, who is more than good enough to start games. Ye we persist with an unfit leao and Nkunku who had never been a #9 his entire career

Leao has looked good as a forward, when he’s healthy. Having said that, he hasn’t been healthy for more than 2 weeks in a row. Yet, he still has a good amount of goals. The real problem is that the midfield doesn’t score enough. Allegri’s system is built to not require a true 9 but it does depend on the kids that push high up to score. RLC hasn’t done squat, and now we need Ricci to add it to his game. Rabiot has started to take on more of that role but it’s not enough. I think Allegri figured if Leao is healthy, he can score 20 goals but he hasn’t been healthy. Fullkrug’s most important attribute is his back-to-goal play. He’s a target man that takes up space and can connect with his teammates, that’s great, but he’s not scoring 20 goals in Serie A. I don’t see it. So again, Allegri built this system around midfielders b/c that’s what Milan have a lot of. They need to start taking their chances. Think about all the goals Fofana has missed, that’d be at least 5 points right there!

Sounds good, but what midfielders made runs in the box or pushed the ball forward. Rabiot did once. Strikers getting the ball thirty yards from goal with no options doesn’t bode well. Teams have figured out that in the middle of the field you body Leao and on the side lines sit back two yars and guard the sidelines. It’s the system.
Start Pulisic and don’t bench him because he missed a few chances that he normally buries. There you go. Easy.
Exactly. And also… Allegri benched Puli after a couple of misses. How do you explain why Nkunku gets to play? Didn’t he waste more chances in the beginning of the season than Pulisic the whole season? Why are his misses forgiven? Pulisic is clinical. The stats prove that. Nkunku isn’t. Mind-boggling..

Allergri should change formation to four men backline and play with two winger and a striker, Leao and Pulisic are great wingers, so Allergri should use them as wingers, the coach is too stubborn!! Inter are used to play with three men backline, so it’s no problem to score goals whereas Milan players are not used to the current formation and not creating goal chances as much as they should, Allegri should switch formation as soon as possible before it’s too late to catch up Inter!!
