MN: Milan intend to negotiate €22m fee with Real Madrid – the current strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are planning to negotiate the permanent signing of Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid but want a discount on the previously agreed figure, a report claims.

MilanNews writes how Brahim Diaz is in his third year with the Rossoneri but is still only on loan, having signed on an initial one-year loan back in the summer of 2020 which was renewed the following year via the formula of a two-year paid loan with an option to buy unofficially set at €22m.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are currently unlikely to pay that figure, so meetings are scheduled in the coming weeks to negotiate the price. Milan intend to not lose the Spaniard, especially when considering that for €15m – a figure plausible for the permanent signing of Brahim – it is hard to buy playmakers of that level who know the league and the environment.

Milan therefore are keen on keeping the 23-year-old, who has grown in his level of performance this season, scoring four goals and becoming the outright leader in the attacking midfielder hierarchy under Pioli. However, meetings will be needed to find a deal.
