CM: Milan offered chance to sign €40m Benfica star by agent – Maldini’s response

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been offered the chance to sign Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl by his agent but his asking price is high, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are continuing their programming ahead of the summer transfer window and have staged meetings with prosecutors and intermediaries.

Among these there was a meeting with the well-known German agent Volker Struth and he offered his client Julian Weigl to the Rossoneri, because the 26-year-old would like to try a new experience and has put Italy at the top of the list of preferences.

Milan have taken note of the situation and the opportunity, because they hold the former Dortmund man in high regard but at the moment they are oriented towards profiles with different characteristics such as Renato Sanches.

The Portuguese midfielder is the number one target to replace Franck Kessie, while Weigl has a valuation of around €40m which is considered too high by Paolo Maldini.
