CM: Milan offered midfielder by Roma – the position of Maldini and Massara

By Oliver Fisher -

The meeting between Roma director Tiago Pinto and his Milan counterpart Ricky Massara gave them a chance to speak about a few players, and one of them was Jordan Veretout.

According to Calciomercato.com, the pair had opportunity to discuss various transfer market issues including the permanent transfer of Alessandro Florenzi, and the name of Jordan Veretout also ended up on the table as part of those talks.

The midfielder is not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans and the Giallorossi are looking to sell him even though he is under contract until 2024. The idea of a sale to Roma’s big rivals Napoli emerged, but the Frenchman was also proposed to the Rossoneri.

Stefano Pioli knows Veretout well, having coached him in the two years he had at Fiorentina, and the costs of a possible operation would be lower than other midfield targets.

However, Milan are not currently attracted by the possibility of signing Veretout and continue to have other priorities such as Renato Sanches of Lille above all, with Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz an interesting alternative.

  1. I am disappointed with the amount available to Maldini from Redbird. We cannot make miracles to be competitive next Season. We are going to struggle as some signing will be just replacement for Kessie and Romangioli. We then need badly a right winger and a real 10 for sure.

  2. Once a good player, not d future for Milan. If we can’t get all d players we desire, we should get some, at least. Botman is out of it, we shld sell off some dead woods, to get Sanches. It’s really disappointing d situation at Milan.

  3. Wasting fund and salary to recruit this veretout. He reject us and choose Rome in past. Better go buy fofana or svanberg
