Italian journalist says Milan can ‘open a cycle’ as the Scudetto win was ‘sustainable’

Italian journalist Federico Zancan has said that AC Milan could open a cycle of dominance now because the way they won the Scudetto was sustainable.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport (via Milan News), Zancan explained that the method Milan used to win the Scudetto this season was sustainable because they have young players that can be bolstered with some new signings.

“Milan’s Scudetto was sustainable, it is a team that will have to be reinforced but that has a great future and can really open an important cycle.”

He went on to explain the areas of the squad that need to be addressed if they are to win the title again next season and perhaps go further in the UEFA Champions League than just the group stages.

“Milan know they have to buy a trequartista, they have to reinforce on the right flank because Saelemaekers and Messias have done their bit but they need a player of a higher level. Kessie will leave and he will have to be replaced.”

The loss of Franck Kessie is the biggest thing for the Rossoneri management to address during the summer as he is a midfielder of a very high quality, the sort who can not be replaced cheaply.

There are a few attacking targets that are already being reported as on Milan’s list going forward.
