CorSera: Milan move for Origi hinges on Liverpool renewal clause

By Mitchell Wilks -

Milan’s plot to sign Divock Origi on a free transfer could depend on whether or not Liverpool choose to activate a renewal clause, a new report reads.

Origi has been heavily linked with a move to San Siro, with reports in recent weeks suggesting a deal is all but done to make him a Milan player for next season.

But Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) report that while Origi is still a top target for Milan, Liverpool have an option to renew his contract and keep him at Anfield beyond this season.

Details regarding the circumstances of the renewal are sparse, but the report states a deal with Milan will only be confirmed should Liverpool not exercise their renewal option.

The Belgian joined Liverpool in 2014 and despite gaining a reputation as a big game goal scorer, has been used in limited capacities by Jurgen Klopp, serving as a rotation option.

  1. Hmm is this renewal option by club without player’s interuption only happens in premier league just like giroud’s renewal.
