Sky: Milan owners Elliott Management back Chelsea takeover bid and could hold small stake

By Mitchell Wilks -

Milan owners Elliott Management could end up holding a minority stake in Premier League side Chelsea, should Nick Candy’s bid to buy the club be successful, according to a report.

Chelsea are currently the subject of a global bidding war, having been put up for sale with a £3bn asking price by current owner Roman Abramovich.

Sky News report that Candy, who has offered to buy the west London football club, is set to be backed by an affiliate of Elliott Management, in the form of a multimillion pound cash injection.

Bidders are set to be notified on Wednesday or Thursday about whether or not they have been shortlisted as a potential suitor to purchase the club and become owners.

Our colleagues at SempreMilan.it reported that Elliott could look to sell Milan in the coming years, having restored the club financially and helped them back up the European footballing pyramid.
