A journalist close to PAOK Thessaloniki has confirmed AC Milan’s interest in teenage talent Giannis Konstantelias but also revealed his asking price has risen.

PAOK Today journalist Antonis Tsakaleas spoke to PianetaMilan about the reported that Milan are interested in signing Konstantelias, after InsideFutbol reported that the Rossoneri have placed a bid worth €10m to try and convince them to sell.

He confirmed that Milan have made an enquiry and that Milan ‘seem to be one of the possible destinations for next summer’, but also that PAOK feel that they can earn €20m from a sale when the market reopens.

He is described as a playmaker with ‘many qualities’ but the ‘most important is the element of surprise’ as well as ‘the variet of ways in which he can beat an opponent. While he has never played in European competitions, Tsakaleas has a reputation that ‘is spreading fast across Europe’.

In terms of the other teams that are interested, the journalist mentions that ‘RB Salzburg and Club Brugge have shown interest in him, but as the season progresses, it is possible that many teams will be on this list’,

Finally, he added: “I’m sure he has the potential to play at a high level. Serie A is a very competitive league for a midfielder like him. Even if I’m not a Milan fan, Konstantelias could make me one. We were born in the same city and I’d like to see a boy from Volos play in the top league.”
