MN: Milan confirm permanent deal for Messias but his future remains uncertain

AC Milan have announced the permanent signing of Junior Messias from Crotone but his future at the club appears uncertain, a report claims.

MilanNews writes how the Brazilian’s loan expired on 30 June 2022 and therefore – as happened last summer with Sandro Tonali – Milan re-discussed the terms and figures of the operation with Crotone after they were relegated to Serie C.

In the end, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara managed to sign Messias definitively from the Calabrian side for €4.5m. Despite this, it is not a given that Messias will remain at Milan into the 2022-23 campaign.

Maldini and Massara have been trying for some time to sign one or two players for the attack such as Charles De Ketelaere and Hakim Ziyech, while there is already Alexis Saelemaekers on the right flank.

There is the possibility that – in the event of the arrival of a significant offer the Belgian or Messias – Milan will let one of them leave immediately to free up space for any new purchases.

  1. I really don’t understand the logic of this deal, won’t it have been better to take Dybala or Bernardeschi, who are younger, technically and tactically better, and they would have come for free
