AC Milan are on the hunt for a new midfielder and plan to accelerate their pursuit of Lille star Renato Sanches, according to a report.
According to today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are looking for a central midfielder who could arrive as early as the January window given the problems the management are having renewing Franck Kessie’s contract while he and Ismael Bennacer will leave for the African Cup of Nations in the new year too.
The Rossoneri’s main target is Renato Sanches and they intend to accelerate for the Portuguese international, who is under contract with Lille until June 2023. It is a ‘difficult’ pursuit but ‘not impossible’ as per the paper, mainly due to the fact relations with the French club are excellent and because the 24-year-old would be happy to join.
Lille want €35m as things stand, a figure that it seems hard for Milan to pay especially in January, but the Rossoneri aim at least to agree terms with Sanches quickly to discourage competition.

Accelerating to buy an injury prone player, this isn’t even the first time we tried to bring him to Milan on loan, he even refused the last time before ending up in Swansea. He’ll just be another played tying down cash on the bench with no yield. This year alone he has missed 18 games out on injury if I’m not mistaken
Hmm..so rather we after kamara then?
