Milan players prepare for Dortmund atmosphere by training with chants – video

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will play in front of 80,000 fans at the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund tomorrow night in the Champions League, and a plan has been devised to help the squad prepare.

As the squad began training at Milanello today, there was something different coming through the loudspeakers, namely the chants of the Borussia Dortmund fans.

During the Rossoneri’s final session before the game, the chants of the Südtribüne of the Signal Iduna Park – also known as the Yellow Wall – were played out loud to try and help the players get used to what will be a red hot atmosphere.

  1. Interesting 🤔
Well Dortmund does have some of the highest attendance in europe (last time i check a very long time ago). And Signal iduna has some crazy displays too. It’s going to be fun 😁

    1. I remember that game in Dortmund in 2009 ,their fans were crazy and they ended up beating us 4 -0…then in San Siro it was a whole different ball game , I think we beat them 3-0 but still got knocked out.
I hope we get a win in Dortmund and the team plays like they did in the second half against Lazio.

        1. If you look up “AC Milan in European football”, you will find that 4-0 loss in the first leg of the 2002 Champions League semifinals between Milan and BvB. Milan won the return match 3-1 at San Siro but got knocked out.

        2. It’s either you guys on this site are too young or I’m too old lol 😂😂😂 yes Dortmund beat us handily though we did have some chances. And I believe we had a make.shift defence, not making any excuses though. There’s also the Depor collapse around the 00s. There are good times as well as bad. Milan weren’t undefeatable

This is why I don’t believe many of you went through the banter era. There’s way too many complaints about how “well” or “badly” the team is doing now. Imagine getting up at 6am to see Kevin Constant, Bertolacci and Mesbah play in your team

      1. UEFA changed the rules to allow for standing attendance ONLY in the stadiums located in England, Germany and France (where safe standing had already been trialed) for the 2022-2023 season.
Therefore, for this match, BvB will be able to have the full complement of 81,365 people seated and standing at the Westfalenstadion, a.k.a. BVB Stadion Dortmund, a.k.a. Signal Iduna Park
Without the standing capacity, the stadium would have held only 65,829 (you could round this up to 66k).
All info found by searching on the internet

        1. I did search but didn’t see it. Ah so it’s “standing” which i presume is an easy thing to get around. I didn’t realize the subtle difference
