AC Milan Primavera have mathematically secured their place in the top flight for next season thanks to a convincing win over Hellas Verona on Wednesday afternoon.
Ignazio Abate’s side were never truly in the thick of the relegation battle but they will be relieved that their 3-0 victory against the side from Veneto secures an embarrassing relegation that was not expected when the season began.
It was not a game that Milan dominated from the off as all of the goals actually came in the second half. Those goals came from Hugo Cuenca, Jan-Carlo Simic, and Diego Sia.
The win continues a sharp upturn in form for Abate’s side who have now won four of their last six matches following the loss to Hajduk Split in the UEFA Youth League semi-finals.
They are now safe from the prospect of relegation with two games still left to play and can begin to look forward.
