GdS: Milan yet to make progress on Leao renewal whilst player struggles for form

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have not made any progress recently on the contract renewal of Rafael Leao whilst the player is focused on trying to get back to his best form, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the Rossoneri have not been able to make any real breakthrough in 2023 with their plans to renew Leao’s contract. His current deal will be up in 2024.

The club are aware that if there is no movement in the next two months, they will have to start thinking about selling him in order to ensure they receive a handsome fee.

In the meantime, the player himself is trying to get back to his best after a poor patch of form at the start of 2023.

He knows that clubs are watching him closely and whilst he is willing to renew on the right terms, he also wants to continue impressing.

  1. I wonder how long it will be until GdS figure out that it is in the player’s interest to turn down a move in the summer so that he can move on a free. All the power is with the player/agent now – Milan can’t force him to be sold in the summer.

  2. Fake news! Other players failing to finish off chances created by leao is not the same as leao being out of form. He leads the league in chance creation.
