CM: Milan interested in PSG-linked Anderlecht star – scouts have watched him for a long time

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing playmaker Yari Verschaeren from Anderlecht, a report claims, joining Paris Saint-Germain in the race.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, Milan have shown an interest in signing Verschaeren who is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Belgium and the latest star to come through the Anderlecht academy.

Born in 2001, he is a classic number 10 that can also play on the wing if needed, and he actually became the first player born in that year to score in the Belgian top flight. The Rossoneri scouting department have been watching him for a long time, studying his strengths and weaknesses.

This season he has already scored two goals in six games, but he has a contract until 2024 and a valuation that is around €10m, with PSG also mentioned as having an interest. An alternative target Milan like is Club Brugge’s 20-year-old attacking midfielder Charles De Ketelaere.

For 10mil this deal is a steal! But I guess we will wait for too long as usual, so that other team will sign him first.

I’d prefer Charles, he is the greater prospect and could be the kind of player we need to compete with Diaz? De Ketelaere has a huge workrate, is getting fysical stronger and stronger and above all, his technique is a real joy to watch. 10million though will not be enough to sign him.

Verschaeren on the other hand, he could grow into a very similar player as Brahim Diaz, same posture, same movements. He misses consistency though, this season has to become his breakthrough .

Both of them will (i’m pretty sure of it) turn into great players. But if I could choose i would opt for Charles, just because of his physical abilities.

But anyway, I trust Maldini and Massara on this.

When they got Saelemaeckers, I had to laugh so hard haha, how could a guy that was not even in the first eleven in Anderlecht make any impact in AC Milan? He made his minutes as a right wing back and never knew to persuade me of his qualities, you saw some talent sure, but Massara saw his full abilities, while no one in Belgium saw it.

At that time they were also interested in Jeremy Doku, I was like, ohh c’mon Milan, you could have signed him, instead you pick up a player from Anderlecht’s bench.

And look at Salamander now, wow! Biggest mistake Martinez (Belgian head coach) made was taking Doku with him and leaving Alexis at home. In my opinion Alexis would have made a much greater impact.

Sooo Maldini, Massara, whatever you do, Milan fans should be behind you, I’m confident about the future!

    Peace, forza Milan

hi, cool of all ppl you have to react. I saw some comments of u earlier, couldn’t agree more!

If you want to see a blink on Charles, he is playing against OHL in a few minutes. I’m sure Milan scouts are catching the game as well + there’s not much going on tonight anyway. Just a tip hehe take care
