AC Milan are hoping to get the renewal of Rafael Leao over the line as quickly as possible, and in the meantime a clue may have arrived from the player himself.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Leao took advantage of a free afternoon yesterday to go and see Zé Gomes play – his former teammate at Sporting CP and the youth national teams of Portugal – who now plays at Seregno in Serie C.
He also gave an important confirmation on his imminent renewal with Milan, because some Milan fans were also present in the stands with him and asked him for news on the extension of his contract. Leao’s response was to smile and nod, confirming that the negotiation for the renewal it is proceeding well.
The report adds that the next few weeks will therefore be decisive for reaching a full agreement and getting his signature until 2026, but in the meantime the winger must concentrate only on the pitch and must put right a quiet performance against Salernitana.
