CorSera: Milan will have to raise their contract offer to keep Leao

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan will have to increase their contract offer if they are to keep Rafael Leao at the club in the long term, a report claims.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera today, the offer that Milan made to the Portuguese forward six months ago is not going to be enough to get him to sign a new contract.

Leao has had a wonderful season in attack for the Rossoneri and was crowned as the best player in Serie A after helping Milan win the Scudetto.

He is currently earning €1.5 million per season and six months ago the club made a proposal to raise his salary to €4.5 million.

Nothing was signed at that time and now that interest is growing in him from abroad, the club want to revisit talks and secure his services.

It is thought that it will now take an offer of around €5-6 million per season to keep him.

    1. He should be given the lowest possible figure he (or his agent actually) accepts. You don’t go splashing out money like you’re Inter or Barcelona. Sooner or later that road leads to 1B€ debts and obstacles in registering free players. 😉

  1. 6 mil is fair! Give him the money or otherwise sell him right now. Don’t need to lose for free another player.
I think his contribution this season reflect the salary asked. If we have a cap 6 mil. We can afford to pay him.

  2. He is extremely good, but he cannot play for 10 other players on his own. If he refuse an offer for €6 mill, then sell him for €100 and spend the money on two or three new forwards. He can be injured and so what? Like Zlatan. AC Milan is one of the best clubs in the world and as such should never accept dissatisfied players. They can find replacements all over the world. They did it with the exchange of the goalkeeper. Forza AC Milan.
