CM: Milan and Real Madrid’s plan for playmaker’s future amid gentleman’s agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite being only 23 years of age, it feels like Brahim Diaz is one of the more experienced members of this AC Milan squad as he is well into his third season at the club.

Brahim Diaz was at the Manchester City academy when he was younger and then moved to Real Madrid, with a loan to Milan proving that he knows how to play under pressure, as shown by the three clubs he has represented.

Calciomercato.com recall how the playmaker has 4 goals and 1 assist in 13 appearances this season and has certainly been more impressive that Milan’s new €32m signing Charles De Ketelaere who is yet to score.

Brahim is enjoying the last days of the holidays with his family before returning to Milanello on December 4 to resume training, with reigniting the Scudetto race the only thing currently on his mind with regards to club future.

It is still too early to think beyond that to June when his loan expires, but Real Madrid are definitely happy with Brahim’s development – acknowledging he has been enhanced by Pioli – but at the end of the season the clubs will sit around a table to discuss and resolve the future of the Malaga-born forward.

There is an agreement between the clubs for a €22m option to buy in Milan’s favour and a €27m buy-back in the favour of Los Blancos, a sort of ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between two very friendly clubs that will find the best solution for all interested parties.
