CM.it: Milan, Real Madrid and PSG admirers of striker Stade Rennais paid €28m for

AC Milan are one of three Serie A clubs monitoring the development of Stade Rennais striker Amine Gouiri, according to a report.

Calciomercato.it report how OGC Nice were the launching pad for Gouiri as they paid €7m to sign him, and he quickly drew comparisons to Karim Benzema because of his style of play, the fact he came through Lyon’s academy and also his Franco-Algerian origins.

After failing to really ever establish himself at Lyon, Gouiri joined Nice in the summer of 2020 and he scored 12 goals in 34 league games under Patrick Vieira in his first season, adding 9 assists, then he got 10 goals and 9 assists last season.

Stade Rennais swooped to sign the 22-year-old from Nice for €28m over the summer and their head coach is Bruno Genesio, who gave Gouiri his debut at Lyon. He has three goals and three assists in eight games, forming an effective pairing with Martin Terrier.

Today Gouiri is worth around €40m, and although he only moved clubs in the summer there are three clubs in Italy keen on him, namely Milan – who are looking for their striker for the future – then Roma and Juventus. Real Madrid and PSG are also keen, and his price could continue rising.
