CM: Milan have had ‘recent’ contacts over Salzburg star – the feedback from scouts

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have had recent contacts over the potential signing of Red Bull Salzburg winger Noah Okafor, according to a report from one journalist.

Milan have been heavily linked with a move for Okafor by various sources and the management got to see him first hand in the Champions League group stages when he scored the first goal against the Rossoneri in Austria.

Radio Rossonera did an interview with Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com about a number of topics from the season so far to the strategy and potential targets ahead of the summer, and he was asked about the speculation that Okafor is a summer target.

“Contacts have been going on in recent weeks, but I don’t know if Milan have identified him as a striker… The feedback that Milan’s scouts give me is that he gives his best on an open field [as a winger],” he said.

According to Transfermarkt, Okafor has played 103 games for Salzburg across all competitions with 34 goals and 21 assists amassed in that time. He has played as a centre-forward 57 times, with 23 goals and 14 assists coming there, while he has 13 games as a right winger (5 goals) and 10 as a left winger (2 goals).
