The anger that the AC Milan hierarchy feel has not subsided after Tuesday night’s controversial loss against Chelsea, but there will reportedly by no complaint made.
Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reports this morning that the defeat against Chelsea left a lot of disappointment and frustration because of Daniel Siebert’s refereeing, as the German heavily influenced the game with the non-existent penalty granted to the English side and the consequent red card given to Tomori.
There is plenty of anger and it has not gone away, but there has not been and there will not be an official complaint to UEFA as the club do not want an alibi. They have already said what they think through Stefano Pioli’s statements after Tuesday’s match.
It is yet another referee error in Europe to the detriment of Milan in recent years. In the last Champions League campaign for example, there was the penalty given to Atletico Madrid in stoppage time at San Siro after Franck Kessie’s red card in the first half.
Then there was the goal that stood for Porto despite a clear foul on Ismael Bennacer. In previous seasons in the Europa League, there was the disallowed goal by Franck Kessie against Manchester United at Old Trafford and the non-existent penalty given to Arsenal at the Emirates.
The one against Chelsea is not the first referee error that the Rossoneri have suffered and while the level of annoyance rises each time, the feeling is that the best way to erase this injustice is simply through qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Alibi? What did you mean by that? What’s clear is clear and two errors cannot be right talkless of series of errors. Something is definitely wrong somewhere and the powers that be within the corridors of UEFA should better sit up. Milan management needs to press this case
Are we afraid to make our grievances heard because of uefa and epl monolopy if that’s the case then no point making hue and cry for the sake of showing…..its about time we should think about european super league…..uefa are always good in appeasing their masters in epl……money talks hmm
