Tuttosport: Botman, Renato Sanches and Belotti – Milan planning major summer moves

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have not been able to spend big during the January transfer window but they already have three operations lined up for the summer, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) devotes a section to Milan’s summer strategy, leading with the title: ‘Milan are already in the future’. Except for a sensational twist in the last few days of the winter transfer window, the Rossoneri’s big investments are postponed to the summer when at least one purchase per department is planned.

The management are still looking for a long-term centre-back and the favourite remains Sven Botman of Lille, while the midfielder that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have their eye on is Renato Sanches of Lille.

A striker should arrive too given the advanced age of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud, with the paper claiming that Andrea Belotti could arrive on a free transfer and finally realise his dream of playing for his boyhood club, as his contract is expiring in June with Torino.

  1. We need these 3 player and romain faivre here’s why botman of course we need him because of kajer and is potentially a big defender in the future. 2nd belotti ,Zlatan is almost 42 and Belotti is a decent striker. 3rd Renato we need him for kessie due to him leaving in the January window or end of season. 4th and last romain faivre with Alexis in poor form and Diaz in horrible for he is a perfect fit for Milan

  2. Will welcome all three

Belotti perfect for short term as no1, then from 2023 as a backup to sby better

    Step by step we improve

If Donnarumma was not as greedy, one of above would be ours already

  3. I will believe it when I see it. All 3 players would be solid (although I’m not high on Belotti at all – think he’s an average player) additions – plus Faivre and Kamara….but I don’t believe we will spend that kind of money unfortunately…..we can’t even spend 15m on Faivre in a position we desperately need an upgrade for and now we are going to spend lots of cash all of a sudden in summer? Boatman and Sanchez will cost 70M combined….isn’t that kinda what Vlahovic sold for?? Why couldn’t we just sign him and instead of Botman go for Christiansen, Rudiger, Sule, etc…and for midfield Kamara or Zakaria instead of Sanches? IMO we should have prioritized (given our unique situation) the striker position and should have went after Vlahovic. Next year Kajer, Tomori will be fit and Kalulu has proven he can play CB at a high level and we can resign Romagnoli to a reasonable fee (and he wants to stay) – so CB is not that much of a priority – especially with the free agents mentioned above. Similar to defensive mid. Kessie is gone – fine. But Poegba is coming back and Kamara is available on a free and Zakaria can be had now for 7M…but striker? That position is the most important. We had an opportunity to get one of the best young strikers in world and we watched him go to our rivals who are in debt…So excuse me if I don’t believe these rumors at all…..like I said I will believe it when I see it.

  4. Belotti on a free is welcome for the reasons Stam mentions. In terms of outright purchases I think our priority should actually be a playmaker. Honestly, Romagnoli and Kalulu are doing a good job being the starting pair. What we desperately need is goals and assists. Messias is doing OK, and can be replaced in the summer, but only after a real trequartista is found to replace Diaz, whos is producing nothing right now. He’s like a Saelemaekers 2.0 offensively speaking. But I think Adli may be this. So then focus the money on an RW, assuming we sign Belotti for free. If Belotti is not signed then ST, followed by RW, THEN maybe a CB if any money is left.
