CM: Two reasons behind January Renato Sanches move failure – he should arrive in June

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan tried hard to bring Renato Sanches to the club in June but unfortunately their late attempt to sign him was not successful, a report claims.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri did everything to try to bring the arrival of the midfielder forward given he is a big summer target, but due to a series of problems the operation did not go through as the management wanted.

The first issue is that Franck Kessie refused to go to Tottenham when the two clubs had already reached an agreement, and then because Samu Castillejo’s exit falling through essentially paused the incoming market.

However, the negotiation for Sanches has by no means reached a dead end, but instead Milan and Lille will hold more talks soon in an even more concrete manner. Directors Massara and Maldini have been setting up talks with the player and Jorge Mendes for some time now, with whom they are also in talks for the renewal of Rafael Leao.

Kessié will leave in the summer and the Rossoneri’s clear and decisive idea is to replace him with Renato Sanches, who is enthusiastic about the increasingly probable move to Milan. It is not yet a fully done deal for the Portugal international but it is close, because the conviction of Maldini and Massara to get to the player is total.

  1. Milan only follow players to decieve fans but the actual targets are those 2-3 mil players and the deadwood they collect as loan.
The truth is that Elliott don’t want to fight for silverware. I believe a team like Milan need additional experience to fight with inter.
