MN: Milan made late attempt to sign Renato Sanches – he is the No.1 summer target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan made a late attempt to sign Renato Sanches from Lille for the second half of the season but failed, though a summer attempt is already being lined up.

That is according to MilanNews, who report that the talks over Renato Sanches have been going on for several weeks, and the Portugal international is Milan’s main goal for the summer as the management know they will likely have to replace Franck Kessie who is currently destined to leave on a free transfer.

On Sunday there were contacts with Sanches’ agent Jorge Mendes and Lille to try and get a deal done before the end of the January window, but getting the operation over the line in such a short space of time (deadline is 19:00 CET today) was always going to be very complicated.

That being said, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will proceed with confidence – but always with caution – towards the summer window when the 24-year-old could well arrive.

    1. Because Sanches is a player that plays defence and attack, Kamara is more of a defensive player. So probably something in that line and the way Milan want to play.
