Mediaset: Milan active on multiple fronts – latest on CB pursuit, Sanches, Ziyech and De Ketelaere

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working across multiple fronts to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season but none of their pursuits are straightforward.

SportMediaset (via MilanNews) report that Newcastle United raised their offer to Sven Botman and Milan did not raise theirs, which meant that the Dutch defender finally gave in to the advances of the Premier League side.

That is why alternative targets are being looked at, with William Saliba of Arsenal and Malick Thiaw of Schalke on the list, showing a willingness to sign a young defender with potential to grow just like Botman would have been.

For the midfield the Rossoneri are still going for Renato Sanches. PSG’s offer is less than Milan’s but they could raise at any moment. The alternative is Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa.

Regarding Hakim Ziyech, the player has been offered to Milan and he would approve of the destination. The obstacle could be the salary he received, but a solution could be found thanks to the Growth Decree.

Charles De Ketelaere is very much in demand and an offer of €35m has arrived from Leeds but the player, for now, has declined the destination.

  1. Pls stop writing these rubbish stories. When they gather d money to buy, or take players on loan, we will hear about it. The fans are fed up with these cock n bull transfer news. Nothing is happening

  2. What else will they write about? This is the time of the year when teams are trying to contact players/entourage of players and so rumors are written. Of course any of us who have followed the sport for years knows that most of the rumors don’t end up true; but that doesn’t mean that in many cases the teams aren’t trying to get these players (and then the team is outbid by another team). It is what it is… you should understand what it is and if you’re not interested, then don’t read the articles. Just wait until contracts are signed if you only want things that are 100%.
