GdS: Milan choose their man for the post-Ibrahimovic era – meeting soon over €40m deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to freshen up their attacking department ahead of the 2022-23 season and they are ready to meet Sassuolo, a report claims.

According to what La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) are reporting this morning, Milan and Sassuolo should meet next week to talk about Gianluca Scamacca, a player that the Rossoneri have set their sights on.

The Italy international appears to be the man that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara want to bet on for the post-Ibrahimovic era, especially if the Swede decides to hang up his boots at the end of the season. He has 13 goals in the league for the Neroverdi so far in the current campaign.

The paper claims that negotiations will not be easy though because Sassuolo are asking for at least €40m to sell and there is competition from Inter. Milan want to move in advance to overcome the competition and secure their centre-forward for the future.

  1. I think this would be a fantastic signing. He’s young, strong, and can score many different ways (and we could keep him away from Inter).
