AC Milan took to the field against Bologna with 10 changes to their starting line-up with an eye on the second leg against Napoli, but the signs were somewhat encouraging in a 1-1 draw.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) write that Milan have their head and their heart in the Champions League which means that they have underestimated their commitments in the league, given they have only one win in their last six matches in Serie A.
Despite the 10 changes, the ‘reserve’ options gave some encouraging signs in a performance that was far from disastrous. Tommaso Pobega scored the equaliser and played well in the double pivot, while Malick Thiaw did well and Alessandro Florenzi looked pretty sharp too.
It shows that the options that are usually on the bench can give more solutions to the Rossoneri head coach, who needs the whole group in this important season finale to achieve a top four place.
