AC Milan and Inter are in the process of creating a new stadium, and the clubs are hoping to have a new home before the 2032 European Championship.
There has been plenty of talk about San Siro, San Donato and other options in the past few years. However, there is now a concrete road forward for the Milanese clubs; they will knock down part of the current San Siro and then build a new stadium.

It is, of course, a sad thing to see the current ground go. However, it is struggling to hold up against time, and the clubs have certainly started to see the negatives with UEFA not considering it to host big games anymore.
As a result, change must be made, and with them now owning the stadium, the potential is there.
The future of San Siro
It has been a while since the last update, and MilanNews spoke to Martina Riva, the Councillor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies of the Municipality of Milan, and an update was given on the stadium.
“The work is progressing, just yesterday there was the last meeting of the week to talk about the new stadium. We will have to be absolutely ready for the 2032 European Championships; in the meantime, the teams will continue to play at San Siro.”
