AC Milan are grappling with Rafael Leao’s contract renewal and the club’s stance regarding a potential sale has emerged, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato.com, Leao’s contract situation at Milan is increasingly complicated and in recent days there have been no progress in the negotiations despite Paolo Maldini’s initial desire to reach an agreement before the start of the World Cup.

At the moment the biggest problem is represented by the salary demands of the player through his entourage which are currently €8-9m net per season, which the management do not seem willing to satisfy.
Maldini and Massara have not yet raised the white flag and they will ‘try until the end’ to strike a deal with Leao and his representatives, but at the same time they must start taking the necessary countermeasures.
The current stance is not to take into consideration offers in the January market of less than €100m and to postpone any evaluation until the end of the season, but given the calibre of clubs linked it cannot be excluded that those bids come in.

Now he wants 8-9 million!? LOL 😀 When I remember the ACM squad in 90’s or 00’s all of the players left their hearts on the field for the club, in every single game. Leao is not even nearly the crucial player as Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Ibrahimovic, Maldini, Costacurta, Ancelotti, Tassotti, Albertini, Inzaghi, Stam, Massaro, Dida and many others. Leao is more like manequin who most of the time walks on the pitch and ocassionally scores. He is not even in top 10 goalscorers in Serie A in last two seasons. Yet, he wants much much much more money than the above mentioned champs have been earning per year. Just sell him and if there is a fool who wants to pay 100M or even better 150M – that’s awesome!!!
Well, if Paolo listened to Kaladze and bought Kvaratskhelia for 15 million and sold him during the summer for 60-70 million it would have been much better!!! Personally I think Kvaratskhelia is a better and more consistent player and thanks to him Napoli will win the scudetto this year.
