GdS: Two Milan stars will have fitness evaluated ahead of Monza clash

By Euan Burns -

Both Fikayo Tomori and Ismael Bennacer will have their fitness evaluated ahead of the Monza clash to see if they are fit enough to play a role, a report claims.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), the two injured players were not part of the squad for the Champiosn League match aaginst Tottenham Hotspur.

This was a blow for Stefano Pioli but the Rossoneri still managed to win 1-0 and are in control of their chances to get into the quarter-final.

Serie A action returns on Saturday, though, and Milan will be taking on a Monza side that has been growing in confidence and has risen up the table.

Tomori and Bennacer will be evaluated in the coming days during training to see what level of training they can undergo and whether they could make it onto the bench against the Brianzoli.

Malick Thiaw and Rade Krunic were in their places against Tottenham.

  1. Well, if it was Thiaw vs Tomori, then judging from current performances i would say Tomori even at full fitness cannot simply walk back in. Though i think with Kjaer’s fitness issues, very unfortunate, i think he would be the one to make way, then Thiaw moved to the middle. Kalulu-Thiaw-Tomori, Sounds exciting. But Tomori must MUST work at getting back to his best.

  2. Thiaw must continue his momentum. He’s growing confidence and he’s not tired because he hardly played before.
I guess if Tomori will be ok, it will be Kjaer who’ll be benched cause he won’t be able to play twice in a week
