Carlo Pellagatti believes that Darwin Nunez remains on AC Milan’s list of targets for the striker position, price permitting.
During a press conference to journalists at Casa Milan last month, Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare confired that the club are looking for a striker who has almost the same physical and technical characteristics as Olivier Giroud.

“We are evaluating both in Italy and outside Italy: it is a question of characteristics and for our team’s game it is fundamental. He must be a player with completely different characteristics to those of Gimenez who is not a centre-forward like Giroud: we must be good at completing these two things together,” he said.
Reports have suggested that Dusan Vlahovic could certainly be an opportunity given that he is at odds with Juventus and knows Massimiliano Allegri well, but the intentions of the management might be different.

Carlo Pellegatti has given his take on Milan’s pursuit of a new centre-forward in his weekly column for MilanNews, putting the name of Nunez back out there.
“As for the attack, currently dominated by Gimenez alone – the verdict on which I’ll leave until the next few matches as a starter – we’re waiting for the ‘TRANSFER OPPORTUNITIES’ sign to be put up in international football, seeking the solution best suited to Allegri and least costly for the club.
“Casa Milan’s preferred option is Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez, but with a purchase option that obviously isn’t contingent on a €40 or €50 million outlay. Meanwhile, Milan seems to be open to making inquiries about Dušan Vlahović. Many fans like him, but the matter will likely be discussed again in the very final days of the transfer window.”
Yes please! Darwin is a good player I belive that now he will loose his place in the liverpool squad, with ekitike joining the reds and with gakpo being versatile enough to play in that striker role.😆
He is not worth it. Both for Liverpool and Uruguay he has not done well enough.
he has decent numbers. For Uruguay he has 13 goals and 3 assists in 35 games, a performance of 46%; Cavani just to take a good striker for Uruguay as example, did 58 goals and 17 assists in 136 games, a performance of 55%
For Liverpool, when he has been a starter in his 3 seasons there, did 14 g+a in 26 games as starter in his first season, performance of 54%. In his second season, did 25 g+a in 33 games as a starter, performance of 76%, and this past season he did 10 g+a in 17 games as starter, performance of 59%.
As overall in his time, 3 years, at Liverpool, i understand that his numbers don’t impress, 66 g+a in a total of 143 games, performance of 46%, for a player for whom Liverpool paid 85 M. But he has not been bad, his first season there the whole team did not do good and they finished 5th in the Premier, but he still won the English Supercup in his first year and he even scored in that game. In his second season the team finished 3rd in the Premier, and they won the EFL cup. And in the recently finished season Liverpool won the Premier, so he has had an overall performance of goals+assists of 46% in 3 years, domestically won 3 titles (Premier, EFL Cup, and SuperCup), and if we consider when he was a starter in the games his performace goes up to an average of 63%.
So if Milan could negotiate loan+option to buy, paying his full salary (that is at 4M net per year, and Milan already paid last year 4.5M net to Tammy), then he would be a good option.

Why does it always have to be the ‘least costly’?
I don’t get it, doesn’t it make more sense to spend 40-50m on a player that’s actually top notch than to waste 20m on a player thats worth 0? For example, emerson royal. You bought him for 15m and now you want to get rid of him at all costs and will let him gk out on loan. That’s 15m wasted where you could have added another 10m to a quality player and he would have been worth that or more. In the log run we end up spending more money on trash

If he good he will stay at Liverpul. He is not good for that money same like Vlahovic. We have Gimenez and bring Demirovic or some who not expencive more then 20m and that is. Coach need put them play together and take best from players
