MN: Milan still waiting a month after Ibrahimovic’s injury – discussions about his future scheduled

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan continue to wait until Zlatan Ibrahimovic can return from injury but so far there is no encouraging news, according to a report.

MilanNews writes how it was exactly a month ago back on 23 January when Ibrahimovic left the pitch in the first half due to discomfort in his Achilles tendon in the draw against Juventus and while it was expected to be a quick fix with some rest and recovery, he is still out.

The Swede continues to train alone in the gym and he has missed four matches against Inter, Lazio, Sampdoria and Salernitana, while he will also be out for the game against Udinese on Friday barring a surprise.

Ibra’s injury given his age and the discomfort involved requires even more precaution and even more patience, while it also seems obvious to state that his condition from physical point of view will predominantly influence the discussions over a potential renewal.

Zlatan’s contract with Milan will expire on 30 June 2022 and it will certainly be necessary to evaluate if he can do another season, but a decision on his future is not likely to be made before the spring.
