AC Milan have decided to make a move for Parma’s Giovanni Leoni and there have been talks with his agent, a report claims.
Milan have already been linked with several centre-backs early in the summer given that Malick Thiaw or Fikayo Tomori could leave. Leoni’s name emerged some weeks ago, and now there appears to have been an acceleration.
Milan try for Leoni
According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri are ‘strongly focusing’ on the Parma defender. There have been several discussions with the agents of Leoni and Igli Tare – the new sporting director – considers him among the priority objectives to strengthen the defence.
Inter’s have also been credited with interest and their advantage could be having Christian Chivu, the new Nerazzurri coach who played Leoni regularly at Parma. Milan, however, have the Allegri card: the manager likes Leoni a lot and is on great terms with Parma’s CEO Federico Cherubini.
The feeling is that an auction could start with a final prise of €20m. In all of this, what seems apparent is the Rossoneri’s desire to ‘bring a bit of Italianness back into the team’, a much-discussed topic in the last two seasons.
In this specific case, Milan see Leoni as the perfect replacement for Thiaw if the latter were to leave Milanello, with Bayer Leverkusen having been linked frequently in recent weeks.
After all those fuc#ups and failed transfers of Morata, Chuk, Okafor and so on, i will actually applaud them if they manage to snatch him up infront of Inter
Thiaw and Leoni should be the future of Milan defense. I would rather Milan sell Pavlovic and Tomori instead of Thiaw.

We have a starting spot. Inter will still have Bastoni, Bisseck, Pavard and probably even De Vrij in front of him.
And Inter will play with two CBs with Chivu, making that competition even worse.
