CM: Milan identify three key reinforcements with early transfer window strategy planned

By Mitchell Wilks -

Milan have already put in place their plan of attack for the summer transfer window, which includes three main reinforcements to strengthen the squad, according to a report.

With the Rossoneri unable to conduct any business in the January transfer window, focus has since been on summer, where there is already a plan in place to secure their desired targets.

Calciomercato.com report that Milan have identified a defender, a midfielder and an attacker in their summer plans. A contract offer is prepared for Sven Botman who is believed to prefer a move to San Siro over Newcastle, amid interest from both clubs in January.

Renato Sanches has been identified to replace Barcelona-bound Franck Kessie, with Milan optimistic about convincing the 24-year-old to join, despite interest from elsewhere.

Divock Origi will arrive in attack, having already said yes to Milan. The club are working to finalise a deal for the Belgian.

  1. – Botman? Too slow.
    – Sanches? Too injury-prone.
    – Origi? Not enough of a goalscorer.

And where the h*** is the right winger?!

  2. I can’t honestly say Botman, Renato and Origi are not an overall improvement over Romagnoli, Kessie and Lazetic, at least on paper. If Milan had signed Aubameyang in the Winter, everyone would have said he was lame and finished, and look what he’s doing. Actually, a lot of people said that about Giroud first, and I think he’s definitely been up to the task, idk if exceeding expectations but definitely doing his part. Hazard was not injury prone at all when Real Madrid signed him and look how that went. Sometimes there’s more to this than stats, or how they perform in a specific squad/league. Let’s hope these signings work, I’ll trust the management first and then see.

    1. I fully agree with you. Always getting new players are a risk. The example of Aubameyang is great because I do not think that anyone expected what he is doing at Barcelona now. So a big name does not mean that it will be a good transfer. Barcelona and Real Madrid have had many experiences with it. Barcelona with Coutinho as well, and RM with Bale too. But people on this blog think very squarely and just look at some stats as you said. Maybe Origi will do great at MIlan. His problem at Liverpool has been his lack of leadership and playtime because Salah and Mane take all credit and reward. Still there is a lot of time to wait till Milan makes these movements. Firstly, I hope that the team is able to win the Scudetto. That would attract more players to join the project.

    1. Yeah, I think Milan has this uncanny ability of bringing out the best in players.
