AC Milan are keeping talks open with agent Jorge Mendes over two of his clients in view of the summer mercato, according to one journalist.
Alfredo Pedulla (via MilanNews) reports that Milan have not given up on signing Renato Sanches from Lille ahead of the 2022-23 season and hope to find an agreement with the Portugal international over personal terms.
However, the management will not agree to a salary of €6-7m net per season but with €4m plus bonuses things could be closed. At the moment Milan are focused on the Scudetto, but they are keeping the Sanches track warm.
Jorge Mendes is also the agent of Rafael Leao and Milan are in talks over the extension of the winger’s contract, after the setbacks of the last few weeks related to the dispute with Sporting CP.
After the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling, Leao will – until proven otherwise – have to pay a fine of about €17m with the help of Lille after the termination of his contract. However, for Milan Leao is a fundamental player for the present and for the future.
The arrival of the new ownership is seen as a potential turning point to ward off the market sirens and get the renewal all agreed.
