Reports: Milan target could be destined for Premier League switch

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan target Sofyan Amrabat could be set to move to a Premier League side rather than climb up the Serie A table to Milan, a report claims.

As has been reported by Inside Futbol (via Pianeta Milan), the Moroccan midfielder who had a wonderful World Cup in Qatar does not look destined for Milan right now.

More than one Premier League side has shown serious interest in the Fiorentina midfielder but it seems that Liverpool could win the race for his signature as Amrabat and his entourage are keen on the move.

Tottenham Hotspur was another option for Amrabat, but it seems that Milan are much further down the queue, at least from a financial perspective.

Amrabat helped Morocco get to the semi-finals of the World Cup in 2022, making them the first African side to get that far in the tournament ever. They were beaten 2-0 by France in the semi-final.

  1. First. I don’t think Milan ever target him in the 1st place.

Second. Fiorentina definitely would sell him either to Juve or EPL clubs.

  2. We’re always late to the party. Enzo Fernandez and now Amrabat. Even if Bennacer leaves imagine how solid we’d be with Tonali, Amrabat and Fernandez. Now if Bennacer leaves we have…. Tonali and…. and…..

    ….

  3. Milan are fishing in the same pond as teams at the lower end of the EPL, or the upper end of the Championship – if that. The likes of Leeds appear to have more financial muscle than we do. Dress it up how you want, until the owners come up with some MONEY, Milan will continue to be a selling club (or a losing-best-players-on-free-transfers club), and the Scudetto will most likely be a one-off.

    1. The owners of those lower table EPL teams and Championship teams didn’t just “come up with some money”. English football is awash with money from their enormous TV deal. If they didn’t have that they also wouldn’t have money to spend. Serie A doesn’t have that thus Milan and nobody else has money to spend (unless you’re cheating Juventus). Simple as that. Stop attacking the owners.

No, this isn’t about the owners anymore.

First. FIGC MUST to step up and improves Serie-A so every clubs can get BETTER TV revenue.

Second. Owners can’t whip up their own moneys when Milan revenue is small because they don’t have their own stadium. If Milan have their own stadium, there’s a guarantee 100+ million euro /year revenue for Milan and that will help a lot. The problem is Italian politicans and bureaucracy keeps blocking Milan stadium project.
