CM: The promise Theo Hernandez made on day one at Milan and the details of his renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

It is now pretty much common knowledge that AC Milan will soon announce that Theo Hernandez has extended his contract, and the details of the agreement are beginning to emerge.

Calciomercato.com reports that despite the interest from other top European clubs Theo has made the choice to stay at Milan, the club that have given him confidence and where he found in Paolo Maldini as a guide and a friend.

The Frenchman reached a total agreement with the Rossoneri management to renew his deal until 2026 (with an option for another season) as he wants to fulfil a promise made on his first day at Milanello: to become the number one in the world in his role by writing new pages in Milan’s history.

Theo’s agent is expected in Italy in the next few days to sort out the very last details and sign. An official announcement should arrive within the next week to 10 days, and his salary will go from €1.5m net per season to €4m plus bonuses.

    1. This is different than Kessie. Kessie never said he agreed to renew like Theo did and only promised he will settle everything after the Olympics. Kessie agent also keeps asking for higher salary every time Milan agreed with their demands but not the case with Theo’s agent.

Not every players are obsessed with money like Dollaruma, Hakan, or Kessie. We got Kjaer, Calabria, and Saelemakers who put their pride and joy wearing Milan’s shirt as their main reason for renewal.
