Another report has claimed that AC Milan are keen on signing Maxim De Cuyper ahead of next season, amid the doubts over Theo Hernandez’s future.

According to TMW, we cannot talk about a deal in progress at the moment because Milan still have to hire a sporting director and then make a decision on the head coach. However, scouts have identified De Cuyper as the ideal replacement for Theo, who they expect to be sold in the summer.

Having come through the academy at Club Brugge, De Cuyper has a deal with the Belgian side until June 2028. He is an idol to the fans, with strong ties to his current club and will certainly not push to leave.

However, in the summer, at 24 years old, the time might be right for him to take a step up, both for De Cuyper and Club Brugge. The club listen to offers starting from an initial valuation of €15-20m, but which could also increase with bonuses.

Much will depend on the offers that arrive because in the Premier League several clubs are following him with interest just like Milan, a club that will actually be able to dive into the market only after having resolved a couple of crucial issues.

  1. This guy is really a top defender. His performances in the CL are incredible. For people who don’t follow club Bruges. He is worth wel beyond 20mil

    1. You can’t judge a player based on just few matches in the champions league. Do you watch the Belgian league to know how good he is?

  2. Last time milan paid 30€+ to Club Brugge for CDK and he was flop. Now milan are planning to give 15-20€ to the same club again for a player who is rated to be a good player in belgium league..sounds interesting for milan management..

    1. yeah that won’t happen unfortunately…

I would love both Rovella and Tavares but they would cost in the region of 30+ M and we can’t pay that much, nor will the management do something like that.
